Luton Town Men's 3 visited a 2nd placed in the division St Alban's team. First time round town lost this fixture 6-1. With all senior midfield players absent this was looking likely to be a turkey shoot. However men's 3 went into this game like all before with a determination to never give in. Game on. The youngsters in midfield held their own and the back four of Corey Hewitt, Iian Starkey, Ian Hutton and Dean Gates put on a master class of rugged defending. Only conceding once in the first half to a short corner flicked into the top corner. St Alban's captain was so disappointed with his team's performance that town were rewarded with their half time jelly babies. 2nd half, town had their fair chances but just could not find the net. St Alban's slotted home a second before town got on the scoreboard from an excellent effort by Damien Bunting. This made for an exciting last period with town pressing and st Alban's fearing a draw. They held on but admitted that towns men's 3 had surprised them and given them a run for their money. As the season draws to its final games other teams should be wary of towns men's 3s as their style of play and do or die trying attitude is what they can expect.
