Luton town mens 2s gave a good account of themselves away to Stevenage, despite having a depleted squad with several players unavailable. The hosts struggled to break down a well organised Luton side, but finally went ahead in the dying minutes of the first half with a scrappy goal after Luton failed to clear the ball. Two quick fire goals early in the second half put the game beyond Luton, who then threw caution to the wind in an attempt to get on the scoresheet. Stevenage made it 4-0 before Dean Pierce clawed one back for the visitors from a well worked short corner. Chris May, linked up sumptuously with Syed Gardezi to bag a second for Luton before stevenage netted again to make the final score 5-2, with Adam Hobbs voted player of the Match for impressive close control and attacking runs. Luton 2s next match is at home against fellow struggler's Cheshunt, and will be hoping to have their squad back to full strength before the encounter.
