Luton Town kicked off their campaign with a difficult fixture away to local rivals Bedford. Bedford started the better or the two teams which saw them take advantage on a Luton mistake to goal 1-0 up with the first 5 minutes. The early goal saw Bedford get their tails up and start to pile on the pressure, however the Luton Defence managed to keep score at 1-0.
Seeing out a difficult period in the game Luton started to put a few moves together which created a few goal scoring opportunities, then Mark Maris finally made the pressure count by levelling terms 1-1. A quick response saw Bedford saw them take back the lead after a good passing move, 2-1.
Second half saw Luton start to control the game better and becoming a even game with chances at both ends. Luton dealt a blow in the second half with James Wallis going off injured again with a broken foot. However as the game worn on Luton managed to put their chances away to take the lead 3-2 in the last few minutes of the game.
