The Dobson clan started off the day poorly arriving in the wrong kit and missing 1/3 of their contingent as Tom hasn’t yet mastered the mysteries of the 24hour clock.

The first half was spent sitting off Hertford which afforded them too much respect. Luton added to this by unanimously deciding to only play at 75% capacity; the only exception being Indi who was only operating at 25%.

The only source of entertainment in an otherwise dull first half encounter was Tom repeatedly shouting at ‘Rob’ in the direction of a bemused Adam. Fortunately Tom would redeem himself with a number of fantastic saves in his first game back in years.

Half time 0-0. Some wise words from Mickey as always at half time but the tactical brain of a handsome young Az ‘Pep’ Rashid was whirring away and the decision was made to step up and press high on the opposition.

The transformation was immediate. Matt found himself afforded space just outside the D and crept in launching an absolute missile that was heading in the top corner. Unfortunately a defender made the absolute pick of a lifetime sending the ball over.

Nevertheless Luton persevered winning short corner after short corner. Despite some bad injecting and stopping, eventually Luton made some count with Dave launching two great finishes (and one down the middle through the keepers legs) into the net.

Between the 2nd and 3rd Luton goals, Hertford managed to scramble one in, but the experience on the Luton side meant they were able to control the game to a 3-1 victory.
