Dear Members
The committee wanted to give you an update on the latest plans for the club to Return to Play.
On Monday evening the new committee met for the first time via Zoom. The committee is confident that with its plans it can see a Return to Play for the start of the season. The committee discussed the following;
Step 1: How to Return to Play: COVID secure & COVID-19 Club Officer
Step: 2 Returning to Challney
Step: 3 Subscriptions for this season
Step 1: How to Return to Play: COVID secure
To return to hockey safely, we need you to complete the following;
Complete England Hockey’s Participation Agreement – you cannot play or train without signing it: https://forms.office.com/FormsPro/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=NvkYmuiQxU--asEa8eSc6g-NqKCAUipGoe_luyiEaiZUMlE4NUVKRDZENzJGNUtNVEE5NVlXME9ETC4u
Register/Update your details on our club website. You can do this on the Pitchero Mobile App, or online via www.lutontownhc.com. Your details must be up to date. This allows us to comply with Track and Trace requirements.
Any team or club run sessions i.e. fitness, training and games - attendance will be recorded via Pitchero’s attendance tracker. This ties in with our ability to Track and Trace.
COVID-19 Club Officer: Luton Town HC will need to appoint a COVID-19 Officer. Are you interested? Do you know anyone who would be? Or, do you know someone who has professional experience? Reply to this email if you do. Role Description - attached below.
More details will follow - step by step - as we Return to Play.
Step 2: Returning to Challney
We’re confident we can see a return to games at Challney. A small team has been established with the sole objective to collaborate with Chiltern Learning Trust (Challney High School for Girls) on getting hockey back at Challney. With help from England Hockey, contact will be established to build effective procedures and assessments that enable that return.
What do we need from you? Complete Step 1. This will enable us to demonstrate our ability to return to Challney, or any site, safely, and in a COVID-secure way.
As we have been already, we will continue to look for alternative pitches. This ensures we have additional pitch capacity should we need it. In the meantime, can we ask you to complete a quick questionnaire on other pitches - SURVEY LINK CLICK HERE.
Step 3: Subscriptions for this Season:
At the moment we’re not asking for subscriptions – don’t worry. It’s not clear how many games will be played this season and we want to make it fair for everyone.
England Hockey still needs to announce Step 5.
Uncertainty of mini lockdowns in other areas which could affect fixtures. i.e. Luton‘s recent restrictions which affected Cricket matches with Luton clubs.
In the interest of fairness, we will return to paying match fees with a small lump-sum payment nearer the start of the season. This will be capped so you don’t pay more than the planned subscriptions. i.e. £300 for an adult in full-time employment. We have a contactless solution to collect match fees too. Each match fee and small lump-sum will be tailored to each category.
At the moment, you don’t need to pay anything.
If you have any questions then please contact treasurer@lutontownhc.com. The aim will be to respond within 48 hours.
Kind regards
Luton Town HC Committee
