It’s with a heavy heart that we share with you today the saddening news that Bryn Owen lost his long battle with cancer and passed away on December 20th at 23:20.
To many within the club, Bryn was a friend, team-mate, captain, and coach who made meaningful relationships with everyone, including what was his wife-to-be, Maxine. It has been an extremely difficult time for those close to Bryn, Maxine and their family.
A tremendous amount of support has been shown and offered to the family of which their truly grateful.
In memory of Bryn, Luton Town HC will show a minute silence at all home games (and we’re asking for away games too)
In memory of Bryn, and an absence of flowers at his funeral, Bryn has asked that people support either or both of the following charities - Cancer Research UK and Sue Ryder St. John's Hospice in Moggerhanger (where Bryn spent his final day) links attached below. The celebration of Bryn’s life will take place on Thursday 16th January at 4 pm at Bedford Crematorium, 104 Noise Road, Bedford, MK41 0RL with celebrations continuing afterwards at King William IV, 56 High Street, Kempston, Bedford, MK42 7AL. The dress code will be smart black attire and Bryn has requested you toast his life with a Jägermeister.
Bryn will be sorely missed with his witty responses and dry sense of humour.
Here’s to a friend of the Luton Town Hockey Club family who’ll never be forgotten.
