Luton were through to the last 32 on the National Veterans Trophy, but it was a long trip to play Norwich Dragons. After a long journey and with old legs Luton Started the game well, for the first time this season. Luton pressed high up the pitch and managed to steal the ball in the Norwich half, this led to a short corner. The short corner was converted by Chris Ryan low into the bottom left corner of the goal.
Luton had a period after the first goal where they were on top and had another couple of good chances to score, but were unable to convert. Then the ball was moved down the right and crossed to Matthew Dobson who had a reverse stick shot fly past the Norwich keeper and into the net.
At half time Luton had a two goal lead.
At the start of the second half Norwich gained control of the game and scored early in the half from a re bound from a short corner. Most of the rest of the second half was end to end and both sides had chances to score. With ten minutes left on the clock Norwich scored again to make the game level.
It looked like the game was going to penalties, but with two minutes left on the clock a great move through the middle saw Perri D'cruz find an unmarked Matthew Dobson in the middle of the Norwich "D" who managed to first time deflect the ball past the keeper and into the net.
Luton managed to hang on for the last couple of minutes and come away with a well deserved 3-2 win. They are now Into the last 16 of the competition and face a very difficult trip to play Northampton Saints.
