29th January 2022 Luton town mens 3's Vs Royston 3's

Luton town men's 3 visited Royston again but this time to play their 3s. Town were short of 2 of their regular midfield players. The rest of the team stood up to the plate and around 10 mins into the game Luke whiting made a lovely run into the box before having an unexpected shot. The Royston defence tried to stop it but it bobbles over their stick and rolled into the goal just outside of the keepers reach. Luton was 1-0 up and it looked like the long trip to Royston may have been worth it. This early goal upset Royston and they fought back and gave Luton a very hard time but a few good saves from Luton keeper Beirne and the Luton defense's solid composure meant it looked like they would go into half time 1-0 up still. Then late into the first half town midfielder Damien Bunting managed to weave his way through the Royston team before rocketing the ball into the back of the net. This boosted towns spirits even more knowing the long and early trip to Royston wouldn't be wasted. Half time came with Royston 0-2 Luton Town.

Captains Dean Gates and Coach Robin Barnes leading the half time speech they calm all players and kept the header of town focused to insure they would hold onto the win.

Second half began with Royston trying to apply pressure quick but defence soon turned it around and began to attack, But with every chance they came Town could not find the correct system to score another goal. Royston didn't seem to drop heads and kept pushing on despite luton's constant attacks but with 2 minutes left on the clock Royston finally managed to exploit Luton's tiredness a bag a miss timed shot that bounced over town keeper Beirne. Luton kept their calm and the ball to see out the final 2 minutes of the game.

After last week's 6-0 to Royston 2's, Town where delighted with a 2-1 victory.
