Luton Town Men's 3s got off to a difficult start in their opening match at home to Harpenden 4s. With a lack of experienced defenders Town were held in their own defensive quarter for most of the match and despite an incredible effort, were 2-0 down at the break.
They conceded another almost immediately in the second half before being reduced to 10 men due to injury. A tremendous team effort was needed to keep the visitors from scoring more and being a man down meant Luton forged few chances going forward leaving the final score at 0-3. The deficit would have been more were it not down to the efforts of Rookie Goalkeeper Antonio Katsianis who was awarded Man of the Match for his heroics! Luton Town will hope for a strong response in their next match away to Broxbourne 5s.
