A Bit Rusty

With new players, and a new formation this was always going to be more about experimenting than the result but we started very well and if our forwards would have had thier shooting boots on...especially Syed who on one such attack put the goalie down had remain composed and lifted it and the goal was gaping. If we are honest we could of/should have been 4-0 up by half time but due to a combination of our near misses and the oppositions excellant goalkeeper making save after save we went in 0-0 at half time.

The second half was much of the same with positive link up play between defence & midfield with Corey, Luke, Clive, Charlie and Jamie at the heart of everything good. Nathan and Alfie working tirelessly to advance us up the field and break up Bedfords rythmn and attack and until fatigue kicked in we looked like we would come away with a result, unfortunately Bedford managed to overload our defence and scored a soft goal to take an unwarranted lead against the run of play. Their second goal was entirely a different matter, a tomahawk top bins from the top of the D so Joe who up until then was a spectator could do nothing about. To their credit the team did not drop their heads an carried on peppering their goal right up until the final whistle, with Faz testing their goalie on more than once occassion but the ball did not want to go in for Luton today.

An encouraging start, if not the result we wanted and/or deserved, however If we continue to play like this we will have better days to come.
