Luton leave it till the second half to go on and win local derby against local rivals Bedford Town to keep pressure at the top.

Luton's Mens 1st team took on local rivals Bedford in the East League Division 3SW on Saturday. And it was a great beginning to the New Year with the 3 points going Luton's way after a cautious start to the game. At half time, Luton were 0-1 down despite delivering some vibrant, attacking play.

Luton were more fluent in the second half, finding better form after their Christmas break. Luton's pressure finally paid off as they blasted two past the Bedford keeper to make the final score Luton 2 Bedford 1. Luton's scorers were Garry Newman and Martin Kavanagh. The 1s now lie third in their league, 6 points adrift from leaders Potters Bar.

Luton's remaining mens teams all begin their league games this coming Saturday, with Mens 2s currently at the top of Division 5SW, Mens 3s mid table in Division 6SW and Mens 4s third in Division 8SW.
