After a well led warm up by Ryan Patel Luton believed that they would be in for a victorious start to 2018. However, this was not to be the case.

The game started terribly for Luton as WGC scored a goal within a couple of minutes. A sloppy start from Luton proved that throughout the christmas period the Luton team had one to many pigs in blankets (Anwar's favourite), as well as a couple to many pints. The score was now 1-0 WGC. However, this lead was not to last long due to the pure quality of Kieran Whitehall. The young forward deceived the WGC defence by taking a well calculated air shot dummy before keeping a cool head and passing the ball past the keeper into the goal. The composure demonstrated could only be compared to Ronaldinho in his prime. Sadly this goal wasn't enough to spur Luton on to take the lead and WGC scored two more before the half ended. The latter of the two goals could only be described as unstoppable. The excess speed of a WGC dipping drag flick caused Mark to dive out of the way and fall to the floor. The half ended 3-1. Special mentions from the first half must go to the Luton central midfielders. Luke led from the front and put in full effort, Gary controlled the game with good passing and strong tackles and Phil tried.

After a motivational team talk from Whiteboard w****r Wallis, Luton felt prepared for the second half. This half quickly turned into, what can only be described as a table tennis match with the ball going from one team to the other with quick counter attacks. After having a not so impressive performance at the back, Luton had one more role of the dice by putting Ryan Patel upfront. Ryan did not capitalise on his chance and his overall playing performance didn't live up to the quality of his warm ups. Ryan's performance was clearly playing on his mind, as after the game and during teas he was an ass***e. Luton did look dangerous towards the end of the half with brilliant skills from John and the skill of the year so far from Cam. Luton's new found form came to late and the game ended 3-1.

After an overall poor performance from Luton there were many contenders for DOD, but the award went to Dan Crimp for slipping onto his backside after not knowing which way to run. MOM went to captain Luke Titmus for leading from the front with exceptional work rate.
