Luton Town Hockey Club's mens 1st team welcomed Bedford for their first match of the season.
Bedford came hot out of the blocks scoring the first goal by finding a hole in what seemed to be an impenetrable back line, unfazed by the score board Robert Shearer stepped up and delivered what could only be described as a blistering drag flick! Robert Shearer with his head still in the game found himself in the D again taking a strike so powerful the last defender on the line couldn't do anything but deflect it into his own goal taking Luton into the lead!
David Pike wanting to get in on the action couldn't hold back when the ball fell before him on the penalty spot, managing slot the ball between the keepers legs further extending Luton's lead.
Bedford quick to respond managed to force their way past the defence one last time closing the gap to 3-2
David Pike with a lovely piece of skill found himself running at goal again and with a quick one two and no chance for the keeper to react, David had scored yet another goal leading Luton to a 4-2 victory over Bedford.
Robert Shearer winning man of the match!
