Luton took on welwyn garden city for the start of the season in 3SW league. Both teams came out well playing good hockey and working hard. Welwyn took the lead through a penalty corner in the first half that Luton GK tom Dobson is disappointed to not of saved. Luton began chasing the game straight away putting welwyn under a lot of pressure. The pressure told and Luton got the equaliser through a penalty corner of there own with the ball being dragged into the right netting by David Pike. Luton continued to push and once again found an opening with Cameron sarrington slotting it in. The first half ended 2-1. Luton came out strong for the second half wanting to extend there lead and allow welwyn no route back into the game. Luton once again worked a penalty corner to David pike who dragged another shot into the top right corner of the goal. Welwyn pushed hard looking to get back into the game and forced some weak challenges that lead to James wallis receiving a green card and having to sit out for 2 minutes. Luton coped with the pressure of 10 men and once the suspension was over worked a counter attack well for Cameron sarrington to get his second. The game ended 4-1 for Luton and they move onto next week with a lot of confidence for this season hoping to push for a top finish. MOM Harry Goss.
