The day started with Kerri Wheadon injuring herself before the match even started, leaving the team with only 2 subs.

The game started off with Luton having most of the possession, leading to the opening goal straight into the back of the net, scored by Lauren Walmsley. The first half continued with Luton stringing together some fantastic passes before Helen Beattie pulled off some brilliant skills to make the score 2 – 0. Letchworth went on the attack a couple of times giving the Luton defence a test, before Leah O’Shaughnessy scored the third goal for Luton just before the end of the first half.

The second half highlighted brilliant passing in the midfield area, which in turn led to a brilliant goal from a young Emma Halsey. Letchworth tested ‘keeper Sharna Gough late on in the second half but the Luton ‘keeper did well to keep her clean sheet. Luton continued to press and test the Letchworth defence and goalkeeper before a well timed pass found the stick of Claire Clancy who put it in the back of the net to make it 5 – 0.

Lauren Walmsley finished the game by going one on one with the goalkeeper and with only scoring another goal on the brain, a dive from the keeper led to Lauren sitting on the goalkeeper’s head.
