The opening fixture of the new league with a big change for Luton's 2nd XI with new captain Kerri Stinton against Letchworth's 4th XI.
The first half was a challenge for Luton with a goal conceded within the first 10 minutes of the game; however, Shannon Smith in her first attempt in goal did an incredible job for the team.
There were many opportunities where Luton could have scored; however, by the end of the first half half Luton were down 2-0.
In the second half, heads were kept high and Luton were very good with keeping the ball; however, Nadine Baxter had to be taken off to sort out the blood when a Letchworth striker flicked the ball straight to the mouth. Down to 9 players Luton still played well, with v drags and roll outs by a very impressive Alisha Patel.
The final score was 3-0 to Letchworth; however, the team played exceptionally well for a young team, for many of which this was their first senior league appearance.
Player of the match was Shannon Smith with amazing goal saves for her first attempt in goal.
