On what was a unusual warm Autumn day, the ladies took on Bishop Stortford Curates who were only one place below them in the league. The team started strong, pressing high and applying pressure onto the opposition. Within the first 10 minutes of the game, we thought we were ahead but unfortunately it hit Sophie's foot before going into the back of the net. Momentum was on the home teams side, when Jess put the ball into the back of the net.
Luton's defensive team worked hard to ensure that the 1-0 lead was kept, Emma making some great interceptions running one, in short corners really kept Luton in the game. The ladies went into half time 1-0 up. Knowing they were playing great hockey and were able to go on and score more, confidence lifted spirits going into the second half.
With some fantastic short corner routines by Luton's attackers meant Helen was able to find a lovely strike into the bottom right hand corner. The game ended 2-0 keeping the ladies 2XI on a winning streak and 3rd in the league.
