Helen Steps In

This Saturday was the day where both captain and vice couldn't make so left, as they thought, a fully capable Helen in charge.

It was a friendly match so what could go wrong?!

The warm up, delegated to the ever capable Jack Wiseman, who enquired if we would prefer a military warm up to our normal one. No guesses to which warm up type we chose.

After losing the coin toss, and ending up at the opposite side of the pitch to which we were warming up in, and a negotiation for Chiltern to borrow Amii in goal for shorts, and Helen getting confused with player positions from what Kath had organised, the match began.

It began amazingly with Luton scoring in the first minute, then again shortly after through Sophie and Lena, and then again by Sophie and Lena getting another each. Hiba also managed to get herself on the score sheet near the end in her newly found midfield position.

Everyone played amazingly well, lots of passing (although practice needed on passing backwards, it's not against the rules), stopping the ball on the strong side of the stick rather than attempting something fancy on the reverse.

Lots of fun and lots of banter by both teams all round made it a fun and enjoyable match which ended up with cake at the club house.

Player of the match was Nusaiba for being in amazing positions, making great runs and passing and calling for the ball. Amii got champagne moment for dancing back to own goal like a Disney Princess.

Although Helen survived, normal service will resume with less chaos, and will actually know what’s going on next week (if nothing else, she'll be able to figure out who everyone's initials are on pitchero) ?
